Procedure for Collecting Children
It is the policy of The Denning Montessori Nursery School that the following guidelines are followed in the event of children being collected by an adult other than their parent or guardian.
- Ideally we would like our teachers to be introduced by the parent or guardian to the person who will be in charge of collecting your child, prior to the actual date of collection. However, if this is not possible, written consent must be provided along with some form of identification. You can also use the signing up sheet that is available on the parent’s notice board.
- If for any reason you cannot provide the above (due to being unavoidably detained), we will request a clear description together with the nursery password).
- If you are telephoning with alternative arrangements you are required to quote the school password so you can be identified as the parent.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL CHILDREN BE ALLOWED HOME WITH ANYONE THE STAFF ARE UNFAMILIAR WITH. IF IN DOUBT WE WILL CALL THE PARENT AND/OR THE CHILD WILL BE KEPT SAFE AT THE NURSERY UNTIL SUITABLE CONFIRMATION IS OBTAINED.
When a child is admitted to The Denning Montessori Nursery parents may name on their Health/Entry Profile form anyone who may NOT collect their child. This information is treated as private and confidential and is only shared with staff members employed by this setting.
